Coaching Staff

Nothing has a greater influence on the quality of children's sports than the excellence of the coach. The Tigers Aquatics staff consists of three professionally trained coaches. They, as member coaches in the American Swimming Coaches Association, have access to the most comprehensive training and certification program for youth coaches of any sport in the United States. Certified coaches in USA Swimming programs possess training and experience in the physiology and psychology of adolescent development. Our coaching staff provides assurance that the time your children spend in swimming will be quality time.

A former assistant coach at Arizona State University and a two-time captain of the Franklin & Marshall swim team, Phil Spiniello is in his third year as the assistant coach of the Princeton women’s swimming and diving team.

Among his responsibilities with the Sun Devils were on-deck coaching of all athletes, recruiting, managing/coordinating team travel, budget, entries and compliance issues. He also served as the assistant director of the swim school’s fall and spring sessions.

Spiniello made his way to Tempe, Ariz., the previous year to begin work on his masters, which he earned in May, 2006. He also served as the co-head coach of both the Sun Devil Aquatics (USA Swimming Gold Medal Club) and the Sparky Swim Camp. His responsibilities including designing and implementing training plans and teaching technique in all four strokes.

Spiniello graduated from Franklin & Marshall in 2003.

Coach Ana, an ASCA Level 1 coach, joins Tigers Aquatics Club as a Developmental Coach. Coach Ana swam competitively for 15 years with Santa Cecilia University in Braziland represented her school in many regional and International competitions. As a representative of Brazil, Coach Ana took first place in her age group and third place overall in an International Competition held in Hawaii. She emigrated to the United States in 2005 to continue training for the PanAmerican Games and eventually to the Olympics.

Coach Ana is looking forward to passing on the great experiences that swimming has provided her. She has extensive experience with various age group training and has worked with many different coaches. She has great skill in evaluating and monitoring the development of young swimmers, and looks forward to working closely with Coach Arilson to build Tigers Aquatics into an excellent swim club.

Coach Ana is currently a student at HunterCollege in New York. Coach Ana’s focus with Tigers Aquatics is to provide a positive, fun environment for her swimmers that allows them to reach their maximum potential and help them grow as individuals.
